16-Year-Old Nigerian from Port Harcourt Secures Apple Internship
Ifechukwudeni Oweh, a 16-year-old boy from Port Harcourt, has recently landed Apple internship, the tech giant company. The young prodigy, fondly called Teddy, will be joining the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystem team, where he will analyze data from Apple devices to improve embedded artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. This is a remarkable achievement for the young student who will gain true-to-work experience and collaborate with some of the world’s best innovators.
Teddy’s academic journey started early as he graduated from Chokhmah International Academy in Port Harcourt at the age of 14. After taking a gap year, he moved to the United States in the spring of 2022 to pursue his bachelor’s degree. During his gap year, he worked for a couple of software companies and honed his coding skills, preparing himself for this opportunity.
In a recent interview, Teddy expressed his excitement about the Apple internship, stating, “I’m honestly very excited. I’ve been preparing for this a good portion of my life, and I can’t wait to contribute to a dynamic company like Apple.”
Teddy’s passion for technology and his exceptional skills have earned him various academic achievements. He has conducted research in areas such as algorithms for machine learning models, disease spread using stochastic processes on networks and differential equations, and computational modeling for Tarleton’s Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research to support environmental and agricultural advancements.
With this achievement, Teddy has become an inspiration to young people worldwide, showing that age is not a barrier to success, and with hard work and determination, anyone can achieve their dreams.
