A woman who died in a multiple hit-and-run has been identified as a 29-year-old from Poland.

Justyna Kalandyk was struck by two lorries and two cars as she used a pedestrian crossing while the lights were green for traffic.

The drivers of all four vehicles did not stop.

Ms Kalandyk was treated by paramedics at the scene in Tulse Hill, south London but died of multiple injuries on Monday December 11.

She was from Poland, but had been visiting family in Wandsworth, south London.

The driver of the second car to hit her, a 52-year old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

The driver of the first lorry, a 49-year old man, has been interviewed under caution.

The driver of the second lorry and the driver of the first car to hit Ms Kalandyk have spoken to police, but neither has been arrested.

Many witnesses have come forward and spoken to police, including the driver of a third car.

Even though we have traced all the vehicles that we believe were involved, I continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us immediately,” said Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton, who is investigating the crash.

An inquest into Ms Kalandyk’s death will begin today at Southwark Coroner’s Court.

Police still want to hear from anyone who was travelling from the South Circular junction of Norwood Road towards the junction of Brixton Hill between 6.30am and 7am on that day.
