President Tinubu Ministerial List to Feature Former Governors

As the nation eagerly anticipates the unveiling of President Bola Tinubu ministerial list, insiders reveal that the roster is likely to feature an eclectic mix of seasoned politicians, technocrats, and representatives from both major Nigerian political parties. This masterstroke of inclusive governance is expected to head to the Senate for approval within the next week. This critical insight, offering a glimpse into the workings of Tinubu’s administration, hints at the careful balance of power and experience he aims to establish in his team.

The President’s ministerial list, commonly referred to as the “Tinubu Ministerial List”, has already sparked a substantial conversation within Nigeria’s political landscape. The Guardian, in its recent report published on Monday, projected that the list would include a handful of key figures from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alongside several technocrats.

In a deliberate move to create a government representing all factions, Tinubu is set to have nominees drawn from diverse political and professional backgrounds. According to reliable sources, the new cabinet will comprise 42 ministers and 20 special advisers (SAs), showcasing the breadth of expertise that Tinubu is marshaling for his government.

The high-profile names speculated to feature on Tinubu’s ministerial list include at least five former state governors, representing a significant portion of Nigeria’s political elite. These governors, armed with their wealth of experience, are expected to add substantial value to the new administration.

Among the notable names speculated is Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna state. Other former state leaders who might find themselves part of Tinubu’s administration include Muhammad Badaru Abubakar from Jigawa, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, and Nyesom Wike from Rivers. Each of these individuals has already proven their mettle in their respective states, and their inclusion would indeed represent a compelling blend of tested leadership.

It has also been gathered that the former governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, is under consideration for a key ministerial position, potentially the role of Foreign Affairs Minister. Fayemi, who served in the last administration as the Minister of Mines and Steel, would bring a wealth of experience and insight into this critical position.

The eventual unveiling of the “Tinubu Ministerial List” will undoubtedly shed more light on the President’s strategy for governance, but the initial indications suggest an administration that values diversity, experience, and a bi-partisan approach. As Nigeria awaits this unveiling, one thing is certain – the nation is set to witness a unique blend of leadership that could shape the course of its political future.
