VIDEO – Watch CCTV Footage of Murder Suspect Escaping Police Custody

Published

After escaping from North Las Vegas police custody just four days ago, officials confirm with News 3, 25-year-old Alonso Perez was caught Tuesday night.

NLVPD says Perez was arrested in the area of Charleston and Pecos. He was found inside a residence where he was taken into police custody without incident.

Police had Perez in handcuffs Friday, but when they weren’t looking, he slipped out of the interview room where he was being questioned and stole a white 2016 Ford F-250 pickup truck.

Perez is accused in the murder of Mohammad Robinson outside a North Las Vegas McDonald’s restaurant.

Robinson was shot and killed Aug. 27 after witnesses say he didn’t hold the door open for a woman at McDonald’s.

The family of Mohammed Nestor Robinson got news late Tuesday night of Alonso Perez arrest and say they’re relieved and thankful to police but still have questions on how the suspect was able to escape police custody.

News 3 spoke to Maggie Robinson, sister of the victim just after getting the news. She told us, it’s been torture and pain.

“It hurts so bad knowing that the person that murdered my brother might get away and having that feeling is something that I hope nobody has to experience. Just knowing that he’s caught. I haven’t smiled since I knew my brother passed and it’s the first good smile that’s come out of me,” said Maggie Robinson.
