Kenya: Kitengela Woman Kills Her Child and Consumes Body Parts in Disturbing Incident

In a chilling turn of events, police in Kitengela are investigating a gruesome case involving a woman who violently attacked and killed her two-year-old child on Monday evening. Reports from the scene suggest that the woman, later identified as Olivia Naseren, used her teeth to sever her child to death, consuming parts of the child’s body in the process.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident unfolded in Nyika estate, a residential area within Kitengela town. Neighbors watched in horror as Naseren grabbed her child, who had been playing with other children, and took her into the house. Shortly thereafter, they heard the child’s desperate screams.

Moments later, Naseren emerged from the house, her teeth, and clothes drenched in blood. Alarmed by the shocking sight, her neighbors immediately contacted the police, who swiftly arrived at the scene.

In a statement to the press, Naseren acknowledged attacking her own child, confessing to the horrific act. She explained that her actions were fueled by deep self-loathing and the immense pain she had experienced in relation to her child. “I do not love myself and that is the reason why I decided to take the life of my daughter,” she stated.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers broke into Naseren’s house and found her unconscious. The child’s body was taken to the morgue, while Naseren was transported to Kitengela Sub-County Hospital for medical attention.

Upon regaining consciousness at the hospital, Naseren was forced to vomit the alleged body parts, which authorities intend to use as evidence against her in the impending legal proceedings.

Benson Mutia, the Director of Criminal Investigations in Kitengela, announced that the investigation would continue despite Naseren’s admission of guilt. He expressed his desire for her to provide a statement to help investigators understand the motive behind the killing, as well as whether the murder was premeditated or not.

“It’s a bizarre incident. We will be interrogating her to ascertain the motive of the killing. We also want to know if the murder was premeditated,” Mutia said.

The authorities confirmed that the remaining parts of the child’s body are currently being held at the Kitengela sub-county hospital mortuary. The case has been assigned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for further examination.

This harrowing incident has left the community in Kitengela shaken and seeking answers. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the need for accessible resources for individuals struggling with emotional and psychological issues.
