Nigerian Singer Tiwa Savage Set to Perform at King Charles III Coronation Concert

Excitement is in the air as Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage is confirmed to perform at the highly anticipated King Charles III coronation concert. The historic event is scheduled to take place on May 7th at the majestic Windsor Castle grounds and will feature renowned musicians from around the globe.

Tiwa Savage’s inclusion in the concert lineup has generated immense enthusiasm among fans and music aficionados worldwide. Interestingly, Tiwa is the only Nigeria-based artist on the lineup, with JERUB, an emerging Nigerian-born and Nottingham-based musician, also billed to perform at the concert. JERUB, whose music incorporates elements of pop, soul, and indie, was recently shortlisted as a finalist in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Introducing talent search.

Known for her electrifying stage presence and soulful music, Tiwa Savage is expected to deliver a captivating performance that will leave a lasting impression on this momentous occasion. She will join an incredible lineup of artists, including Paloma Faith, rock ‘n’ roll legend Steve Winwood, internationally renowned pianist Lang Lang, and pop star Nicole Scherzinger.

In addition to these esteemed musicians, the concert will feature previously announced performers such as Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, Alexis Ffrench, and a unique collaboration of five Royal patronages. The BBC has also announced appearances by Hollywood icon Tom Cruise, legendary actress Dame Joan Collins, and Disney’s Winnie the Pooh.

Notable personalities like Tom Jones, Bear Grylls, and Oti Mabuse will participate in a series of pre-recorded sketches and segments, revealing fascinating, lesser-known facts about the new king. King Charles III ascended the throne on September 8, 2022, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. King Charles III and his wife Camila will be officially crowned on May 6th. Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation took place on June 2, 1953, at Westminster Abbey in London after her father, King George VI, passed away on February 6, 1952.

The King Charles III coronation concert will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, allowing fans and viewers from around the world to join in celebrating this historic event.
