Russia dismisses Islamic State falsely claim for deadly explosion

The city of Magnitogorsk suffered a deadly blast that left 39 people dead on December and Russian investigators on Friday dismissed an Islamic State claim taking credit for the deadly apartment building explosion.



Source confirmed that the Islamic State (IS) made the claim on local newspaper on Thursday evening, saying it was behind the explosion in the city of Magnitogorsk on Dec. 31 that triggered the partial collapse of a 10-storey apartment building killing 39 and injuring dozens duo the militant group did not provide any proof to back its claim of responsibility.

Svetlana Petrenko, a spokeswoman for the Russia’s Investigative Committee said the claim should not be trusted and their primary theory was that a gas leak was to blame, also adding that no traces of explosive or explosive devices had been found at the scene.

President Vladimir Putin flew to the scene of the tragedy some 1,700 km (1,050 miles) east of Moscow on Dec. 31 and has since ordered all of the affected building’s residents to be rehoused.

Ex-President Abdulla yameen apprehended for corruption in Maldives

Formal President Abdulla Yameen has been accuse of money laundering and the state court has ordered for his arrest adding that he will remain in the state custody until the end of the trial.



Police says Abdulla Yameen has refuse to return the money despite anti-corruption watchdog intervention, and instead he fax in the money to another account which he obtained profit.

The 59-year-old was charged with money laundering last week over claims he received $1m, stolen from state coffers in the country’s biggest-ever corruption scandal.

In December, the police said authorities froze Yameen’s bank accounts and seized more than 100 million rufiyaas ($6m) in US dollars and local currency.

Deadly attack leaves four Indian Soldiers dead in Kashmir gun battle

The police spokesman has expressed dismay regarding to the deadliest attack which see military officers and civilians killed in a gun battle with the militants in Indian-administered Kashmir.
