Air Peace bomb alert in Nigeria declared false.

The threat of a bomb that was announced on an early morning Air Peace flight from Abuja to Lagos, Nigeria has been confirmed to be false.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in a statement by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu the passenger that raised the alarm is said to have a history of mental illness and is currently with the security agencies and medical experts for assessment.

Following the false information, officers of FAAN’s aviation security swiftly evacuated passengers, crew and cargo on board the flight and a bomb squad immediately conducted a thorough check on the aircraft and baggage, which confirmed the information to be false.



Aftermath of the due diligence test carried out on the aircraft, a fresh boarding call has been made and passengers have boarded the flight for take-off to the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria have re-assured passengers and all airport users of their security, adding that they should carry on their lawful activities without any fear.

Similarly, following the recent commissioning and movement of international operations to the new international terminal at the Port Harcourt International Airport, the FAAN said it has collapsed the make shift tent at the airport.

With this development, all domestic arrivals have now been moved to the old international terminal.

French president pledges to oust anti-Semitism

France President Emmanuel Macron has disclosed his intention to end anti-Semitism due to the  rate in which racism is growing.



When addressing the Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions (CRIF), he pledge to introduce legislation to oust hate speech and expresses his desire to cooperate with social media firms to identify the authors.

“Our country, and for that matter all of Europe and most Western democracies, seems to be facing a resurgence of anti-Semitism unseen since World War II,” Macron said on Wednesday.

In addition he said “Behind the negation of Israel’s existence, what is hiding is the hatred of Jews.”

French president added that anti-Semitism is based on “radical Islamism” as a rampant ideology in France’s multi-ethnic, poor neighborhoods.

Fire out-break leave scores dead in Bangladesh’s Capital, Dhaka.

Two source knowledgeable with the blaze that broke out on Wednesday evening has confirmed that the incident had claim at least 60 resident in Bangladesh’s Capital, Dhaka.



The fire fighter was seen struggling to bring the blaze under control as the fire wax stronger when it spread to surrounding house filled with plastic and gas cylinder.

President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the incident and sympathy with the families of those killed in the fire.
