South Africa: ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo detained for assaulting partner.

A South African musician Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo has been arrested after social media outrage followed a viral video that showed him beating his partner, another musician.

An instagram post from the handle of his partner, Babes Wodumo, showed an angry Mampintsha repeatedly slapping her whiles sternly issuing warnings. The said video has since been deleted.



Babes Wodumo, whose real name is Sakhile Mhlonishwa Langa, said she was traumatized by the episode and had opened an assault case against her partner.

The Police Service confirmed the arrest adding that: “He will be processed and will appear in court soon.” The assaulted musician is however scheduled to address the media on Tuesday.

South Africans took to especially Twitter calling for justice for the assaulted entertainer, Babes Wodumo. The government and opposition united in the call for action to be taken.

The ruling African National Congress (ANC), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) joined the calls for Mampintsha’s arrest, saying it will go a long way in tackling the chronic issue of domestic violence in the country.

Concealed fake dollar worth $20m found by Kenyan police.

The Criminal Investigation body in Kenya has disclosed that they have five personnel in custody following to the fake dollar worth  $20m (£15m).

Two source familiar with the situation states that, the fake dollars was found in Barclays Bank, Nairobi. alleged to be owned by an investor, although further investigation is still on progress.

Brazil: Unknown gunmen killed teenage students.

Police has condemned the incident that took place at a school in south east Brazil, killing at least seven students and one employee,



The reason of the attack is yet to be known as as investigation is still ongoing. However, the two gunmen who started the shooting later killed themselves.

São Paulo state governor João Doria,  expressed dismay after visiting the school, stating ”it is the saddest thing I’ve seen in my entire life. The teenagers who were brutally murdered”.
