Nigeria Election: 41 Parties fight over Borno governorship seat.

No fewer than 41 political parties fielded candidates in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim, the state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria in an interview on Wednesday in Maiduguri.

He said the candidates were contesting the election under 41 parties, including the ruling All Progressives Congress and major opposition Peoples Democratic Party.



He said that over 400 candidates were also contesting the State House of Assembly election under the 41 political parties.

The REC disclosed that the commission had concluded arrangements for the election, adding that it would commence distribution of election materials as well as sending ad hoc staffs to their various locations on Thursday.

Ibrahim called on the candidates and political parties to support the commission and mobilize participation to ensure orderly and peaceful conduct of the election.

NAN reports that major contenders in the race include Prof. Babagana Zulum of the APC; Alhaji Muhammad Imam, and Rufai Monguno of the Independent Democratic Party.

Others were Dr Ahmed Dikwa, Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, and Cpt. Ibrahim Mshelia of the Social Democratic Party amongst others.

NAN recalled that 104 senatorial and 244 House of Representatives candidates fielded by various political parties contested the February 23 National Assembly elections in the state.

Concealed fake dollar worth $20m found by Kenyan police.

The Criminal Investigation body in Kenya has disclosed that they have five personnel in custody following to the fake dollar worth  $20m (£15m).

Two source familiar with the situation states that, the fake dollars was found in Barclays Bank, Nairobi. alleged to be owned by an investor, although further investigation is still on progress.

Apple to lunch iPad Air and Mini support eSIMs

Apple has reveal her plans to add eSIM support on their latest iPad brands, also stating that the new entries will be able to work even on the networks of non-partner carriers.


The new innovation, will see no restriction on users when swapping data plan on a region that does not have full internet access. i.e, No need to swap out physical SIM cards.
