Heavy rains trigger disasters in East Africa

East Africa has experienced heavy rains, displacing thousands.

The authorities have recorded 250 deaths and millions affected by the rains.

Homes have been demolished, crops destroyed and roads swept away, hampering relief efforts in far-flung areas.

The cause of the diaaster is yet to be ascertained though experts have suggested that it could be as a result of global climate change.

This year’s sea temperature difference between the western and eastern Indian Ocean has been record-breaking and rainfall in parts of Kenya has been much higher than normal.
