The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari and his challenger from the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, have both been urged by election observers of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith.

The coordinator of the observers, Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu, made the plea on Monday, February 25, in Kaduna when reading out the interim report on the elections to journalists.Arrigasiyyu, who urged other candidates to also accept the outcome of the elections in the interest of peace and unity, said the presidential and National Assembly elections were conducted peacefully in most states, including Abuja.

He however complained that some states including in Abia, Delta, Rivers, Kogi, Anambra and Lagos states recorded electoral violence.

“Our appeal on behalf of our leader, Shaikh Bala Lau is to advise all the presidential candidates from the major parties and others to accept the outcome of the result in good faith,” Arrigasiyyu said.

Whoever loses should extend the hand of friendship to the other in the interest of brotherhood and peace.

There is always another time for the candidate that loses in future.” Meanwhile, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has rejected what it called the purported victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general elections, claiming the results in parts of the country do not reflect the true aspirations of Nigerians.

The group in a statement on Monday evening, February 25, faulted the 2019 general elections as a complete departure from the electoral gains made in 2015.

Imo Ugochinyere, the spokesman for the coalition, accused the INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, of collaborating with the current administration to rob the Nigerian people of their will while lying to the international community.

Chuch of England to Invest Billions in Cannabis

One would think that weed and religion don’t go together, but a Leafly article by Natán Ponieman suggested otherwise in his write up.

In an exclusive conversation, Ponieman explained that, when you look at it from a historical perspective, “there is nothing in the basis of Christianity against medicine. Jesus himself was (and still is for many, today) a healer.

“Moderation seems to be the key to the enjoyment of non-medical cannabis in the Christian tradition,”

“The default relationship one would normally trace between the big churches and prohibitionism has more to do with their historical role as political agents, than it has to do with any directive derived from their core value system.”

A few months after my conversation with Shavo, and Ponieman’s article came out, I met Joy Smith, a grandmother who went from preaching the Lord’s word as a Christian minister, to preaching the benefits of pure CBD as a hemp entrepreneur.

It seemed that, step-by-step, cannabis and Christianity were getting closer.

According to reports in the media, the Chief Revenue Officer for the zoo, when approached, said on Wednesday, that the said money, approximately six million, eight hundred and twenty thousand naira, was money realised as gate fee from fun-seekers who had visited the zoo during Sallah celebration  to watch the animals.

A local radio station in the state, Freedom Radio had reported on Thursday that one of the finance officers it spoke with had said that one huge Gorilla sneaked into their office and carried the money and ran away, where it went and allegedly swallowed the close to seven million naira.

Also, when asked, the Managing Director of the zoo, Kashekobo, confirmed the development to newsmen but, however, said that he had nothing more to say about it other than that the matter was under investigation.

” the issue is under investigations for now and I don’t want to say anything concerning the matter. Many journalists have met me on the issue but I don’t want to say anything. All I can say is that the money got missing.”

Also, confirming the report, the Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said the matter was under investigation.

It would be recalled that in February 2018, one Philomina Chieshe, a sales clerk with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Benue state, had claimed that a huge snake swallowed N36m, which the board made from sale of scratch card.
