Man City Retain Epl Championship with 98 Points

Published

on

Manchester City became the first team to retain the Premier League crown since Manchester United 10 years ago thereby ending Liverpool’s magnificent challenge after surviving a scare to come from behind and outclass Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

City may not have repeated the 100 points that won the title last season but this was arguably an even sweeter success given the season-long battle with Liverpool.

After Liverpool have lost the lead few months ago, the team continue the chase till the end of the season, even with a 2 nil win over the giants slayer; Wolves at Amfield stadium.

Costa Rica man pictured kissing crocodiles

Published

Source: Reuters – A man kisses a crocodile for a boat trip of tourists in Costa Rica.

Juan Cerdas said it is one of his “hobbies” to feed and kiss the creatures for tourists on the ‘crocodile river tour’ that sails the Tarcoles River.

The river, in the province of Puntarenas, has one of the highest crocodile populations in the world.

Many of them are American crocodiles, who are typically found in Florida and are one of the only species that can walk on four legs.

They can grow up to 17 feet long and weigh hundreds of pounds.

But Juan said they are “not as aggressive as they would have us believe”.

The river has become a huge tourist attraction in recent years.

Tourists flock there to visit a bridge over the Tárcoles River which has become known as “puente de cocodrilo,” or “crocodile bridge.”

Underneath it crocodiles sunbathe in the afternoon sun.

Meanwhile the Mirror recently reported on horrific scenes of animal cruelty as hundreds of  crocodiles have been beaten to  death  by a mob of angry villagers after a local was apparently eaten by one of the reptiles.

President Cyril Ramaphosa accused of misleading parliament

Published

on

South Africa’s corruption watchdog has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa for deliberately misleading the parliament.

The finding was made at the same time that the country’s former President Jacob Zuma announced he was withdrawing from a separate corruption inquiry.

It’s been a dramatic morning in South Africa as the country struggles to tackle high-level corruption.

First came the news that the former President Jacob Zuma was refusing to continue giving evidence at a public inquiry into the corruption that took place on his watch.

He accused the judge-led inquiry of being biased against him. Judge Ray Zondo disagreed and expressed his disappointment.

Then came a separate announcement from the public protector – a state official charged with exposing corruption.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane said the current president had misled parliament over a donation his election campaign received, via his son.

Mr Ramaphosa insists he knew nothing about the donation at the time.

There is speculation here that the public protector has become a partisan figure – and that a sinister campaign is under way, a fight-back by marginalised elites in the governing ANC, who are looking to seize power.
