Hoodlums Suspected to be Herdsmen Kill One and Abduct Eight in Delta State Ambush

In yet another tragic incident in Nigeria, hoodlums suspected to be herdsmen attacked a Toyota Siena bus, resulting in the death of one passenger and the abduction of eight others. The incident occurred between Ndemili and Oliogo communities in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, on Wednesday, at around 5 pm. The bus was conveying the passengers from Onitsha, Anambra State, when it was ambushed by the herdsmen.

According to a source, the deceased passenger was shot and died instantly, while the other passengers were forcefully taken into the bush by their abductors. The situation is deeply concerning, and the families of the victims are undoubtedly traumatized and in distress.

The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr. Bright Edafe. He stated that the attack was carried out by “hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers.” However, he was unable to provide confirmation on the exact number of persons that were abducted.

The Delta State Police Command has assured the public that it is taking the matter very seriously and has begun investigating the incident. Mr. Edafe also stated that he had heard that the driver and one passenger were able to escape the attack on Wednesday.

This recent attack is one of many incidents of insecurity in Nigeria, which has continued to escalate in recent years. The government needs to take concrete steps to address the security challenges and ensure the safety and protection of all Nigerians. It is essential to bring the perpetrators of this attack and other crimes to justice and provide support to the families of the victims. The citizens deserve to feel safe in their own communities and should not have to live in fear of attacks and abductions.
