Lagos Governorship: Rhodes-Vivour Cannot Win Lagos Like Peter Obi - Jandor

The Lagos State governorship race is heating up as candidates from various political parties jostle for the coveted position. Among these candidates are Abdulazeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, who is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) flag bearer, and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who is running under the Labour Party (LP) banner.

Lagos Governorship candidate for PDP, Jandor appeared on the Arise TV News morning show on Wednesday 13th, March 2023 and expressed confidence in his chances of emerging victorious in the March 18th gubernatorial poll. He also took a swipe at his rival, Rhodes-Vivour, stating that he cannot win the election.

According to Jandor, the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, won in Lagos because of ethnic and religious sentiments. He stated that many PDP members voted for Obi, who is of Igbo descent, because of his ethnicity and religion. The PDP candidate also claimed that a lot of Nigerians in the diaspora voted for Obi but have since returned to their respective countries.

Jandor further boasted that he would emerge victorious in the election because all PDP members would vote for him. He stated that he is more popular than Rhodes-Vivour and enjoys massive support from PDP members in Lagos.

Peter Obi won in Lagos and that’s because they said this is our own and we would vote for him. Obi won because of most of our members in PDP voted for him base on ethnicity and religion,” Adediran said.

If you look at the Igbo-dominated markets like Ojo, Amuwo, Ajeromi and parts of Oshodi-Isolo, Labour Party and Obi won because of ethnicity that we are going to vote our own,” he added.

The Lagos State gubernatorial election promises to be a tightly contested one, with candidates from various political parties pulling out all the stops to emerge victorious. As the election draws closer, it remains to be seen which of the candidates will come out on top.
