Detty December 2026 Lagos Events and Tickets

Detty December 2026 in Lagos: Full Events Calendar and Ticket Guide

Detty December 2026 promises another festive season of concerts, nightlife, cultural experiences and parties in Lagos, with activities expected to attract Nigerians at home, returning members of the diaspora and international visitors. For anyone planning to attend, the most important steps are to confirm event dates, buy tickets through authorised channels, arrange accommodation early and prepare for Lagos traffic. One major event already advertising its programme is Detty December Fest, scheduled for 18–30 December 2026, with a Grand Opening Concert featuring Wizkid on 18 December. Other organisers are also announcing December programmes, but their dates, venues, line-ups and prices should be checked individually before making travel commitments. This guide explains how to build a practical calendar, find legitimate tickets and enjoy the season without allowing poor planning to ruin the experience.

What Is Detty December?

Detty December describes the festive period when concerts, parties, nightlife, family gatherings and cultural events make Nigeria, particularly Lagos, a major destination for December entertainment.

For many Nigerians living abroad, the season provides an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. Visitors also come for Afrobeats concerts, fashion events, restaurants, beach experiences and the city’s wider social scene.

The programme is not controlled by a single organiser. Instead, different promoters, entertainment companies, venues, artists and hospitality businesses schedule events throughout December. Consequently, there is no single official calendar that automatically covers every event in Lagos.

This distinction matters. A festival may confirm its own dates while other concerts remain unannounced. Some listings circulating online may also be outdated or speculative. The safest approach is to build your itinerary around events whose organisers have published reliable details.

Detty December 2026: Confirmed Festival Dates and Events

As of 26 October 2026, one prominent programme with an advertised date range is Detty December Fest, scheduled for 18–30 December in Lagos. Its official website lists multiple concerts, parties and experiences across the festival period.

The following calendar highlights the advertised programme. Always revisit the organiser’s website before travelling, as schedules, venues and ticket conditions may change.

18 December: Detty December Fest Grand Opening Concert

The festival’s advertised opening concert features Wizkid on Friday, 18 December 2026. The official event programme identifies the Grand Opening Concert as a headline attraction.

This could be an appealing starting point for visitors arriving early for the season. However, check the ticket category, entry time, venue instructions and any age restrictions before making payment.

The official ticketing platform has advertised general access from ₦50,000 for this event. Treat that amount as a published starting price, not a guarantee that tickets will remain available at that price.

19 December: Opening Weekend Culture Night

The official festival calendar lists an Opening Weekend Culture Night for Saturday, 19 December, on the Detty Pulse Stage.

The programme identifies this as a separate experience within the wider festival. Check the latest event details to establish the confirmed performers, start time, entry requirements and ticket options.

20 December: Launch Weekend Concert

Sunday, 20 December, is listed for a Launch Weekend Concert on the Detty Festival Stage.

If you are planning several events across the opening weekend, compare the individual ticket prices with available multi-day passes. A pass may offer better value for someone attending multiple experiences, but only if the included events match their plans.

21–23 December: Detty After Dark

The published festival schedule lists Detty After Dark across 21–23 December.

Nightlife events require additional planning because transport, venue entry and the return journey can become complicated during the festive season. Confirm the precise daily schedule rather than assuming every activity runs throughout the entire period.

24 December: Christmas Eve Special

The official calendar advertises a Christmas Eve Special featuring DJ Tunez on the Detty Pulse Stage on Thursday, 24 December.

Christmas Eve can be particularly busy as visitors combine concerts with family plans, restaurant bookings and private celebrations. Decide in advance how you will travel between activities and allow enough time for traffic.

25 December: Tungba Christmas

Tungba Christmas appears on the official programme for Friday, 25 December. The event is presented as a festive experience combining music and a contemporary interpretation of Christmas celebrations.

If you intend to attend on Christmas Day, check transport availability, entry arrangements and the event’s schedule before finalising other commitments.

26–27 December: Headline Nights

The festival calendar lists Legacy Headliner Night on 26 December and Future Headliner Night on 27 December.

The programme identifies these as separate festival experiences, but you should check the official calendar for the latest performer announcements. Do not assume that an unnamed headline slot confirms a particular artist.

These dates may suit visitors who want to spend the opening Christmas weekend in Lagos. Book accommodation with convenient access to your chosen venue, and avoid scheduling too many activities in distant parts of the city on the same day.

28–29 December: Afterglow

The published programme lists Afterglow across 28–29 December on the Detty Pulse Stage.

For visitors staying through the final week of December, these dates may provide additional nightlife options. Check the daily schedule, ticket conditions and last-entry rules before attending.

30 December: White Out Rave

The advertised programme concludes on Wednesday, 30 December, with White Out Rave on the Detty Festival Stage.

This is the listed closing experience for the festival’s 2026 programme. Anyone planning to travel home immediately afterwards should leave sufficient time for the journey, airport transfers and any unexpected delays.

Important: The dates above refer to the advertised Detty December Fest programme. They do not represent a complete list of every concert, party or festival taking place in Lagos in December 2026.

Other December Events to Watch

Detty December Fest is only one part of the wider festive calendar. Other organisers may announce concerts, comedy shows, art exhibitions, family experiences and music festivals as December approaches.

For example, the University of Lagos has announced a Detty December edition of its UNILAG in Town initiative featuring Kúrunmí, a theatrical production combining performing and visual arts. The university’s published announcement identifies Friday, 18 December 2026, as the event date.

Flytime Promotions has also been associated with December concert programming in Lagos. However, visitors should consult the organiser’s latest announcements for confirmed 2026 dates, performers, venues and ticket information rather than relying on unofficial summaries.

To find additional events, monitor the official websites and verified social accounts of event organisers, major performance venues, established ticketing platforms and relevant cultural institutions.

Before adding an event to your calendar, confirm four things: the organiser, the date, the venue and the official ticketing channel.

Where to Buy Detty December 2026 Tickets

The safest ticket-buying method is to start with the event organiser’s official website. Follow its ticket link to the named ticketing provider and check that the event title, date and venue match the advertised programme.

For Detty December Fest, visitors can consult the official event website at Detty December Fest Official Website and its published ticketing options through DOT TIX Event Listings.

Before purchasing, review the following details:

• Ticket category: Establish whether the ticket covers general admission, VIP access or a bundled pass.
• Price: Check the final amount, including any applicable booking or transaction fees.
• Date and venue: Confirm that the ticket corresponds to the event you intend to attend.
• Entry requirements: Read the age restrictions, identification rules and arrival instructions.
• Refund policy: Understand the organiser’s terms if the event is postponed, cancelled or changed.
• Ticket delivery: Confirm how your ticket will arrive and whether you need to download it before travelling.

Do not assume that a ticket advertised on social media is genuine. Scammers may copy an organiser’s artwork, impersonate promoters or offer counterfeit tickets at attractive prices.

Avoid paying strangers who promise to transfer tickets through private messages. If an organiser permits resale or ticket transfers, follow its recognised process.

How Much Should You Budget for Detty December?

Your total budget will depend on how many events you attend, where you stay, how you travel and whether you are visiting Lagos from another city or country.

Build your budget around five main categories.

Tickets: Decide which events matter most and purchase those first. Check whether a multi-day pass offers better value than buying individual tickets.

Accommodation: Compare hotels, serviced apartments and short-let properties. Review the exact location, total booking cost, cancellation conditions and recent reliable guest feedback.

Transport: Include airport transfers, journeys between venues and late-night transport. Lagos traffic can make short distances unexpectedly time-consuming.

Food and drinks: Set a daily allowance rather than assuming that every meal will fit your usual budget. Restaurant prices and event concessions may differ from ordinary neighbourhood options.

Emergency funds: Keep money available for unexpected transport costs, schedule changes or other emergencies.

Avoid planning your entire budget around the advertised starting price of a single concert. The cost of attending several events can rise quickly, especially when accommodation and transport are included.

Where Should You Stay in Lagos?

The best accommodation depends on your planned events, budget and preferred travel arrangements.

Victoria Island and nearby parts of Lagos Island may be convenient for some concerts, restaurants and nightlife venues. Lekki offers a broad range of accommodation and entertainment options, although journeys to other parts of the city can take considerable time. Ikeja may be more practical for visitors prioritising airport access or events on the mainland.

Do not select accommodation based on a neighbourhood name alone. Check the property’s exact location against your event venues, estimate travel times at realistic hours and confirm the availability of reliable transport.

For short-let apartments, verify the booking provider, payment terms, check-in instructions and host identity. Avoid transferring money to an unverified account simply because a listing claims that only one room remains.

How to Move Around Lagos During Detty December

Traffic is one of the biggest practical challenges of the festive season. Concerts, private parties, family visits and airport arrivals can place additional pressure on busy roads.

Plan each journey before leaving your accommodation. Check traffic conditions, allow extra travel time and agree on a meeting point with friends if you are attending an event together.

Use reputable transport services or drivers whose identity and vehicle details you can verify. Share your journey details with someone you trust, particularly when travelling late at night.

If you plan to attend several events, consider their geographical locations before buying tickets. Two attractive concerts may be scheduled on the same evening, but travelling between distant venues could make attending both unrealistic.

Keep your phone charged, save your accommodation address and download tickets before leaving. Mobile networks and payment services can become inconvenient when large crowds gather.

How to Stay Safe and Avoid Ticket Scams

A little preparation can prevent many common problems.

First, buy tickets only through the organiser’s recognised sales channel. Second, avoid clicking suspicious links or sharing one-time passwords with anyone claiming to represent an event company. Third, verify changes to event details through official announcements.

At the venue, follow security instructions and agree on a meeting point with your group. Keep valuables secure, watch your drinks and arrange a safe journey home before the event ends.

If an event is cancelled or postponed, check the organiser’s official refund procedure rather than relying on messages from unofficial accounts.

Visitors arriving from abroad should also keep travel documents secure, confirm accommodation before departure and understand their transport arrangements from the airport.
